    Overview
Tetris Riverfront Apartments aims to turn a previously vacant lot along the Ohio River into not only an affordable multi-family housing complex, but a place for people to gather and build community. The building's goal is to connect people in Newport, KY to Cincinnati and the Ohio River.

    Tetris Riverfront Apartments:
Creating a Community by the Ohio River

    Project Background
Before we can begin designing, we need to understand the context of Eden Park including circulation, vegetation, and environmental conditions.

    Building Parti

Connect the Community, to the River and downtown Cincinnati.

    Long volume parallel to site:
    Connect to river
    A bend towards city:
    Connect to Cincinnati visually.
    Another bend back towards neighborhood:
    Connect to community physically.
    Modular Unit Design
Designing the apartment complex I wanted four different types of units: studio, single bedroom, double bedroom, and a triple bedroom unit.
    Studio & 1 Bedroom Unit
    2 Bedroom Unit
    3 Bedroom Unit
    Designing Through Collage
To understand the building at the human level, I collaged the most important views of the building: one looking in, one looking out.
    Final Renders
With the building design figured out, we needed to visualize our ideas into clear, detailed illustrations to best sell the idea.
    Riverside Render
    Boardwalk Render
    Night Render
    Final Drawings
Beyond visualizing the moments in the building, a technical understanding of the architecture was needed through detailed plans and sections.
